It is with great delight that UE Systems receives this nomination for our cutting-edge technology that has been helping industries worldwide. The UltraView, launched in 2022, is an ultrasound camera used for compressed air leaks and partial discharge detection that is helping industrial facilities reducing energy costs and unplanned downtime, as well as improving safety procedures.
The Advanced Manufacturing Awards were established with the objective ‘’to give recognition and give the prestige to the companies in the industrial sector that innovate every day, create products and solutions that help improve any phase of the value chain of a company, making them more efficient, more sustainable and connected’’. The UltraView camera is now nominated inside the category “Mejor innovación en diseño y desarrollo de producto” (“Best innovation in product design and development”).

UltraView Acoustic Imaging Camera for leak detection and partial discharge
With the UltraView, maintenance professionals can easily find compressed air leaks (or any other compressed gas) by simply switching on the camera and watch how the leak locations show up on the screen. This way, it is possible to quickly cover a large area and find a significant amount of leaks, even at a safe distance. Thus, finding leaks with this ultrasound camera is much more efficient when compared to traditional leak detection methods.
For each leak the UltraView finds, it will indicate its decibel level, leak rate and estimated leak cost, providing a quick overview of how much these leaks are costing per year. And, very often, the cost of the leaks is really surprising – they can easily amount to tens of thousands per year!
In addition to air leaks, electrical failures such as corona, tracking and arcing can be easily detected. By simply pointing the camera at any electrical asset, the inspector will see the partial discharge locations shown on the screen. The camera can even distinguish partial discharges from other ultrasound sources, reducing the number of false positives, and thus making inspections much more effective.
The camera is ready to be used right out of the box – its operation requires minimal training and partial discharges can be detected without the need for any additional software installation.
The UltraView can also create reports. The report will mention the severity of each partial discharge or leakage and suggest corrective actions.
About UE Systems
UE Systems is the world leader in providing ultrasonic instruments & training solutions for predictive maintenance, reliability, condition monitoring and energy saving programs.
UE Systems assists companies worldwide implementing ultrasound technology in their predictive maintenance & reliability best practices. For this, UE Systems provides the right inspection instruments, the right training, license-free software and continuous support. By guiding companies in establishing and maturing an ultrasound inspection program, UE Systems assists them in achieving:
- Significant energy savings by finding compressed air leaks and faulty stream traps & reporting the savings opportunity
- Downtime reduction by monitoring the condition of bearings, preventing lubrication issues & identifying bearing failures at a very early stage
- Improvements in safety procedures by using ultrasound for discharge detection during electrical inspections, at a safe distance.
